What a great idea! As a self-awareness trainer, I am always on the lookout for new ways to help clients improve their health, but when it comes to self-awareness, I am often forced to rely on old ideas and methods that have been around for decades.
If you’re a trainer, you probably know how to make a client’s habits more effective. If you’re a client, you probably know how to make habits more effective for you as well. But you can also learn a lot from the way other people do things and how they’re doing it. The health department is a prime example. You can read about it in my recent post on the topic.
The health department is actually a great example of how a culture can be forced to change its behavior. For instance, we see many health department trainers doing the exact same things that the trainers we met in our previous post on the topic did. And we don’t take this very seriously, because we assume that the trainers are just doing it because theyre being trained. But that is not the case. In fact, these trainer habits are the exact opposite of what they are.
Training is much more than learning new information. Training is about learning how to do what you are already doing. In most training programs the trainers are the ones who know what the trainers are doing and what will help the trainers to help them. One of the biggest problems with most training programs is that they are based on the outdated idea that behavior should be the goal. I’ve been training with amory health for a year now and I’ve learned a lot from it. I can’t say that I’ve gotten as much out of it as I’d like but there has been a lot that I’ve learned. One of the biggest things I’ve learned is that the behavior is to be treated as a goal, not a task.
It’s true that behavior is a goal, but it’s not a task. An exercise that is a goal is one that involves you doing a specific task, such as walking. An activity that is a goal is one that you do regularly.
