I’m sure you’ve heard that the Snohomish County Health District is a non-profit organization that provides free medical checkups and screenings to all Snohomish County residents.
The Snohomish County Health District has a lot of good things going for it. For starters, Snohomish County has a lot of good medical providers. Most of these providers are within walking distance of the county hospital, Snohomish County General Hospital or the Snohomish County Medical Center. Not to mention, the health district has a free clinic, which is free to the public and also has a nurse who is there for free medical checkups and screenings.
And while it’s not ideal that the health district is only accessible from the general hospital and the medical center, it’s an area where everyone from the general hospital and the medical center can access the health district free of charge.
But while the healthcare district may not be the ideal location, there are other options that are not currently available in the county. Maybe the best way to get the best deal for health insurance is to pay cash when you go in for your annual health exam. Then, you can go to the health district clinic and get your annual exam done at the hospital itself. Also, there are free clinics located in the county that offer screenings and checkups at the medical center for no cost.
While the free clinics are ideal, you also need to pay the full price of a health exam when you go in for one. That’s because that’s the only way to get the most out of that exam. By the way, if you do go in for a health exam, take your time. The people at the health district can be very annoying.
Honestly, most of the time the health district doctors are as helpful as the local cops. They are very courteous and try to explain things clearly. The only time they seem to get annoyed is when you show your ID and they still don’t want to go to the hospital.
I feel as though everyone is very concerned these days that their personal information is not as safe as it used to be. And, as if the above does not make it more clear, the majority of the health district doctors and nurses are as concerned about their personal information as you are, and are working to improve their security. However, the fact that they are generally courteous and do their best to explain simple things to you adds to their concern.
The health district is one of the largest employers in the state, with more than 3,000 employees. In recent months it has been experiencing a rash of data breaches, and a very public dispute between employee privacy advocates and the district.
A recent story by the Washington Post revealed that the health district has had a data breach that involves personal information of about 1,000 former employees. It also revealed that the health district is now in the process of hiring a security expert to help protect the data, and is seeking a commitment from the district to ensure that the personal information it holds is secure.
The health district is known for its long term contracts, so it could be that they are trying to build a reputation for their data security to help get other companies to sign up with them, as long as there isn’t a lot of information to share with health department employees.
